About

Hi! I’m Isa. I’m a writer and documentary producer, and one time I shook hands with Lin-Manuel Miranda on the Hamilton stage. (Sorry I just had to throw that in and no I didn’t get a picture and YES it is the biggest regret of my life thanks for asking.)

While a lot of my storytelling inspiration comes from all kinds of stories and art forms (like Hamilton and The Last of Us), all of my work centers on telling true stories about people.

My favorite line written by Lin-Manuel in the final song of In The Heights is: “I illuminate the stories of the people in the streets. Some have happy endings, some are bittersweet. But I know them all and that’s what makes my life complete.”

I’m always looking for new stories to tell, and to date I’ve interviewed 200+ people and written 80+ long-form feature profiles, such as:

My latest book of true stories, The Little Book of Big Dreams,  is out now and available wherever books are sold.

I’ve also done freelance writing, brand consulting, and TV hosting work for organizations like Success magazine, Pearson Global Education, Channel TCC22, Edible Orlando, and Disney Institute. I also have an MFA in Writing (with a concentration in documentary filmmaking) from The Vermont College of Fine Arts.

When I am not interviewing people, writing true stories, or producing documentaries, you can find me building Legos, playing my PS5,  listening to a Taylor Swift album for the 100th time, or walking my dog Stanley.
